Popo - Pullman
Popo
Description
A neighborhood boba-and-bites spot earns praise for lively drinks, gyros and Mediterranean small plates, and a few standout desserts, but suffers inconsistent kitchen execution and uneven service. Patrons praise Thai milk boba, milk buns and baklava, while others report pre-made hot-pot cups, overcooked dumplings, scant boba, missing sauces and training lapses. Casual, student-oriented menu and quick counter service make it ideal for a drink or snack, but reliability and portion/value issues limit its appeal as a full meal destination.

We tried spicy beef hotpot, mango smoothie with boba and lychee jelly, passion fruit smoothie with boba, ywen yong coffee milk tea with boba, mongolian beef and spicy fried calamari. Everything tasted great, except the milk tea. The ambience isn’t great, no highchair/booster seat for young children.
I loved my Thai milk Boba!! And I tried the milk buns (fried) and custard bun (steamed) both were delicious. The milk buns were my favorite of the two. Friendly and helpful service.
I'll leave 2 stars because the drinks were good, and because it took so long we got free potstickers that we loved. We ordered the hot pot, I was under the impression you get this pot of boiling nroth and sides of meat and things to put on chopsticks and then dip it in etc but instead we got this like curdled milk soup with steak, fish, spam, yellow cabbage, some noodles. It wasn't that great. We were pretty disappointed : atleast we tried. Service was really great though
I recently visited Popos for the first time and tried a Hong Kong style milk tea with boba. It was delicious. I also had their bobacake, which was simple but good. However, the highlight of my visit was the fact that YIA YIA NIKKI'S is now running the kitchen and managing the place. They have always provided a fantastic atmosphere, mouthwatering food, and friendly customer service that makes you feel like family. I am excited to see how they will improve the place and I will definitely be returning. The chicken shawarma salad is amazing, and I love the Mediterranean pitas and falafel. They have also introduced a new dessert, fried pita crisps, which I had tried before at the old location. It is a tasty and affordable option for an appetizer or dessert, and I highly recommend giving it a try.
