Was Heaven Gibson at China View a mag?
beautiful restaurant with very friendly and attentive staff. I ordered fried wontons (6) entrée and combination szechuan with fried rice. entrée: there were 6 small wintons, just right for a starter dish. the sommes were not flooded with taste, but they come with a sweet and acidic sauce that makes nice compliments. the sauce was a bit on the sweet side for me, but this is a personal preference. haupt: szechuan is pr... What Levi Herzog dislikes about China View:
a few weeks back I have a takeaway menu about my briefbox for china view. hubby is not a big fan of Chinese art, so I thought I would use it to try out the place. so on the way to home to pick up a few take first the restaurant looks great and the service was nice. I decided for steamed dimme sims, huh with spicy salt, dee in plum sauce and fried rice. the waiting period was about 20 minutes, so no drama. they also s... View all feedback.

Only one word.  HORRIBLE. Spent over $80 on takeaway that tasted and smelled of burnt plastic. Made complaint and was told to "Go away..  you make trouble, no refund" So I went away, and I'll stay away, and I'll warn others to stay away too. You only  got a 1 star vote, as there is no zero star option. Be warned, only go here if you have never eaten chinese at any restaurant anywhere else, so you can use it as the reason of  what horrible chinese tastes like, if you can stomach it.

Lovely looking restaurant with very friendly and attentive staff. I ordered Fried Wontons (6) entrée and Combination Szechuan with fried rice. Entrée: There were 6 smallish wontons, just right for a starter dish. The wontons weren't overflowing with flavour but they come with a sweet and sour sauce which compliments nicely. The sauce was a bit on the sweet side for me but that's a personal preference. Main: Szechuan is probably my favourite Chinese dish and this was one of the best I've ever had. The meat and fish were equally succulent and perfectly cooked. The sauce was outstanding with just the right amount of heat and a pleasant, subtle spicy flavour. The choice of vegetables was (for me) a little strange; large diced carrots, baby corn, courgette but only a couple of small straw mushrooms. They were very well cooked and, lets be honest, I didn't order the dish for the veg! The fried rice was fine. I quite like slightly sticky rice (it's easier to eat with chopsticks) and there was nothing to complain about with it. The only problem was with the soy sauce I was given. It was served in a Kikkoman pouring bottle so I was expecting a slightly lighter sauce but it was a dark soy with quite a heavy, salty flavour. I prefer light soy sauce with rice, fortunately I didn't put much on.Would I recommend it, absolutely! I've been in Qld on business for a week and staying quite close by. Unfortunately I left China View until my last night. In hindsight, I wish I'd tried it earlier because I'd definitely go back...next time I'm here, I will.
