The website said open all day. We trudged up there on a hot early evening to find it closed. Also major roadworks going on outside.
I went attracted by the favorable reviews, but I did not like it much. I can tell it is a neighborhood landmark, as it was crowded with locals, specially seniors. I read that their tapas are traditional , and I agree, if that means that they are rough. The meats were undercooked. The fried fish lacked flavor. I expected better.
Pointless trying to visit this bar all the tables for drinks/tapas are constantly reserved for locals. This bar and Almeria not yet ready for tourism.
Unpretentious local tapas bar with friendly staff. Used my basic Spanish they then gave us a tapa menu in English. Best Tinto de Verrano we've tasted so far(a drop of Martini makes a lot of difference). Super Mojama (dried tuna) and fish del dia were very tasty. It's a definite for a return visit
We visit Almeria recently and discovered this bar in a district just off the centre . It was a Tuesday evening and other bars nearby were quiet but this bar was very busy with local people of all ages from the neighbourhood no tourists whatsoever !! Spoke with some of the locals who reaffirm the popularity of the bar run by 2 older men , brothers. Stand up by the bar , order local house wine and any of the fine selection of tapas they're all good. This is for sure my favourite tapas bar in the city no english spoken just point gesticulate and enjoy the experience
