You might just walk right by this place on the beach as it looks a bit rough from the outside. But the fact that it had tables on the beach drew us in. We were seated with a great view of the ocean and sunset. The service was very good as we had drinks immediately. We ordered two kinds of shrimp... coconut and garlic butter shrimp. They were both really good but the coconut shrimp was to die for. One plate would have... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Ocean Azul:
We had a lovely meal here one day, lots of locals there. We headed back another night only to be left sitting for ages, so we walked out. Decided to try another night. Got drinks and menus but no-one came for our food order, so once again we walked out, paying for the drinks on the way out. The waiters in there sure know how to lose business View all feedback.
The service was slow for no apparent reason. Friendly-ish but not as friendly as everyplace else in PV. Fish tacos where just fried fish on a Tortillas.... nothing else, whereas elsewhere they are loaded with toppings. The shrimp octopus burrito was good though. Expensive compared to other places.
First was interrupted by multiple vendors including several children to purchase items, without exaggeration at least 15 during our lunch. More importantly when we gave them a credit card for the bill they said cash only. We were never told by wait staff or saw signs of this upon entering at the beach area. When we asked to speak with management they had two different people directed to us. The later person actually was not involved with the restaurant but with the government. He repeated that there were signs posted saying cash only.Hand written and posted in one location. Food requested was not available for two items after reordering. The staff said margarita were 2 for 1 and then when we ordered they said not those margaritas. chips were stale. The government worker said he would treat us to breakfast at the resort we were staying at as he worked there and was wearing a shirt with the logo.
This was a terrible experience. We had someone bring us menus and asked us for our drink order, which we gave. Drinks came and then… nothing. Not one single person came back to see if we wanted food or more drinks or anything. No one even offered us our bill. We finally got tired of waiting, our our pesos for our beers under a glass and left. Also, bathrooms were not clean and the area between this restaurant and the next was disgusting.
Both our meals were good ... Me, Grilled Red Snapper, my partner some type of White Fish stuffed with Seafood, cooked in Aliminum Foil .... the veggies were cooked properly ... not that busy so service was prompt ..... Most of the tables were out in the sand so we opted to sit closer to the Bar on the cement pad ... The lady suggested a beer I had never tried ... a Modelo not as dark as the Negro, tasty and my partner had a Pina Colada, she says it was good .... Watched the Sun go down during our meal Just a shy over 500 Pesos (535? but this included a 10%Tip ... not too many plaes do that ... I left another 20 Pesos, just to beef up the Tip so 555 Pesos for a night out I wanted to do something on my Birthday and this was a good choice
Called here for lunch after walking the Malecon Boardwalk. Situated right on beach (sand on shoes). Good selection on menu and food was excellent. Local beer finished of nicely.
