La Cascada bar on the western part of Puerto Vallarta was a wonderful experience. We appreciate the magical bartending mixologies kindness of Miguel, the customer-specific service of Mervin and the delicious burgers made every day from 5 am to 11 pm. View all feedback.
What Angelina Auer doesn't like about Arrecifes Seafood & Steakhouse:
I came here with an intention of eating. That didn't happen. I eventually was able to order a drink. It was good, at least. I had to walk up to the bar to actually get my check as my server never returned to check on...me. Sad! View all feedback.

We often stay in Westin because it's kind of dog. We live Mexican cuisine and have explored the city for their great food, but sometimes it's nice to stay in and this bar is a perfect place for it. You have great cocktails, comfortable seating, great burgers and hot dogs and fantastic pommes . The cascade waterfall at the top of the stairs adds a beautiful sound and the view over the gardens is beautiful.
Small Bar off the walkway from the Westin Lobby near a water fall which overlooks the grounds of the hotel. This is where you redeem your coupon for the free drink offered as part of the Resort Fee for the hotel. You can choose from...a rail drink, wine or beer as your free drink. The bartender was attentive and served nuts with our drinks.
We grabbed a quick bite after we landed and arrived at the hotel. It was quiet ~4pm), yet the waiters took too long to take our order and bring the food. We order a pepperoni pizza needed something in the stomach asap). We were glad...that they put in a decent amount of pepperoni, but golly did they put too much cheese on it. Beware of the ants on the table though. We're used to that so it didn't bother us.
As guests at the Westin, we wanted to eat dinner here, but found the apparent dining table seating, — which looked very romantic and inviting with lit candles blazing, — was simply too low and too far from front edge of bench to back. Even with...borrowed pillows from the next table, we couldn't lean back with any support, and even sitting on another pillow, the table was too high for comfortable dining. So we ate at another restaurant that night. Next night, we decided to order drinks and pizza and seated ourselves in the lounge chairs with the standard low cocktail table. The pizza was quite acceptable, and other reviewers of the Westin Hotel have liked the duck tacos. Now for the critical comments: the Westin Management should install a handrail at the steps and very steep ramp entry to this restaurant to prevent an accident. TV volume was too loud, especially with 3 TVs turned to different channels (and only 1 person watching). And of course the seating at the so-called dining tables must be made comfortable for people of normal size, since only the VERY VERY tall might be comfortable as it's currently set up. Another anomaly is that we could not get the La Cascada duck tacos downstairs where the table are truly set up for eating, even though the 2 restaurants share a kitchen — and that's just because no one has carried the La Cascada Menu down to El Palmar Restaurant 2 floors below, and/or no one is authorized to just pick up the phone down there to ask the price.
