I loved my stay in bahay kalipay! before going I was a little worried about the raw vegan food, but it was really amazing that eating was delicious and filling and beautifully presented! the employees were all so warm and welcoming and really cared for their experience. the other guests I met helped me make my stay special too! the day is full of activities (or they can decide from everything if they want to relax more) I expected yoga and relaxation, but so much more. the meditations were really interesting and pleasant, but they must go with an open mind. the accommodation is basic enough, but it was perfect for me, they are very close to nature. If they are expected and a 5-star resort are pampered, this is probably not the place for them. in fairness with the price they pay, one could not expect a 5-star resort, I was surprised how well the retreat was. I left bahay kalipay feeling very peaceful, full of joy and wish I could stay longer! if they relax, enjoy and are open to new experiences, then I could not recommend this place very much!
Amazing community! I have 5 days 4 nights in the daloy private cottage. the accommodation is the traditional filipino hat, eimer shower, flush toilet, a matratze with mosquito net, ventilator. there are regular showers to use for all. Eating is fantastic, totally raw vegan. when they book for the retreat, there are more than enough food, breakfast, smoothie, lunch, snack, dinner. I have also made the raw vegan cookdemo that was super fun. Wednesday is quiet and fast day, they can have koks water and kokos meat, Friday is beach day. the beach is about an hour away.
My experience in bahay kalipay was all I hoped and more. I have just completed a 7 month contract, as we friedenskorps volunteer in katabalogan, samar, eastern visayas. I was looking for a calm retreat for a physical and emotional break before I returned to the usa. I hoped for a yoga meditation, a peaceful environment without the whole living and communication of a hotel or resort. I found bahay kalipay and went there for a 10-day Detox retreat. after seven months of white rice and meat with little vegetable content, the raw vegan diet was a blessing. I engaged all massage variations, daily yoga and meditation and several meditations led by gastguides that eating was incredibly good and this is the only place where guests bring cameras to the meal times to make photos of the eating presentations. I even had a meeting to prepare food in the kitchen and some of us prepared dinner. eating was on a common table and I knew that all guests were fast, although some for a day, a few days, or a week remained the living environment is used to be at the same time in a garden and a jungle. apartment was simple but excellent for my needs. they have free time to wander through the gardens, help to create flower mandals with the gardener, go a labyrinth, rest in a hammock, read, write, or whatever they need to center and enjoy their time, which the personal was incredibly attentive to all. I received individual attention to my diet, provided with special tees and oils, often asked how I did, and received reply to my asking about yoga holding in connection with my bionic knee replacement bahay kalipay has my highest praise and admiration for what they do and the results that I felt after ten days. I poured 12 pounds without thinking about weight loss, my body strength was noticeably stronger, my mood calmer and reflecting, but busy with others, and my blood pressure fell from 147/92 to 121/67. When I left a friend, I wondered if I was willing to meet the real world out there, I simply replied the real world inside and I have no comments about what is out there. alan hale, old 79 years.
Had the most amazing time at Bahay Kalipay! It was very difficult leaving this peaceful paradise after 5 days of feeling amazing. The place itself is beautiful, with lush gardens and various places to relax. The accommodation was exactly what we were looking for, open air bamboo huts, white linens, mosquito nets, and a fan strong enough that you’re not hot at night. You wake up to the sound of birds, and can walk to the close by beach for a beautiful sunrise. The beach itself is not amazing for swimming but is it still possible at high tide. The food was so so good! I wasn’t sure what to expect for a raw food diet (I am not vegan), but I was so impressed. It was really delicious, different at every meal. Also you will not be hungry, 3 meals, a smoothie, a snack and unlimited coconuts. The people working there are super nice, and the teachers make you feel very comfortable and are very helpful. The other guests were also awesome, everybody is open minded and respectful. You are kept pretty busy with 2 yoga classes a day, and 2 classes of either meditation, or introductions to other techniques. We left feeling amazing, and did not want to leave this little bubble of goodness. I would love to be back one day!!
I could only stay 4 nights in this little quiet place and I would stay longer if I had the time. all the things and the yoga teachers are very friendly and I felt comfortable and relaxed during my stay. because I'm not a vegan, I was very curious about the raw food served and I can only say everything was delicious! I loved the snacks and the colorful breakfasts most. I also really enjoyed the inner dance courses that reveal something new for me and some hidden things in me. Thank you for giving me the room to find peace in me. I leave this place full of positive energy.
