This is a must to see what the Dominican Republic has to offer in the northern regions of the island. It is a short 30-40 minutes $45 per way) taxi ride from Cabarete or Sosua, but is a completely different experience of height and beauty. The hiking tour was unique, educational and fun. I appreciated very good service, community and experienced real sustainable processes that coexisted in nature. The food was carefu... View all feedback.
A dream is true... paradise on earth. Excellent attention, food and great hospitality.
The views were amazing from the pool. The staff was incredibly friendly helpful.
Writing this review, I still feel like on cloud nine, remembering the unique experience I had during the visit of paradise on earth. As a Dominican who lived in the United States, I needed an escape from the hectic of city life (plus, it was my birthday and I wanted to do something special). Tubagua was that and more. From the moment I went to the lodge, I felt that I was most magical for various reasons. I was instantly from the rustic beauty of building structures, landscape and amenities (including the pool). But the view. The panoramic view is the most attractive feature. It's a terrifying sight that makes you feel like you're in the world while you're connected to nature. The only fight awakens early from the most comfortable sleep to experience the sunrise. On this note, the rooms are very unique and ideal for those seeking an outdoor experience with huge amenities. Especially the Cassita, which under the restaurant is phenomenal. It included a comfortable bed with a traditional mosquito net, hot water, electricity, and this view that envys me and plan to return soon. Service and hospitality are top notch. I had the pleasure of interacting with the staff, as well as the owner and his family. Unbelievable style and pleasant people who make the experience something special. I thank Tim, Jesse, Alfredo, Perla Taina and everyone else I met in Tubagua. It is an enjoyable experience to meet people who care for the environment and its well-being. In terms of food...wow. I'm not looking forward to the best, breakfast, lunch or dinner. Everything was absolutely exquisite. It was also a plus to have Wifi to post the many Instagram worthy pictures! If you enjoy the nature and look for the authentic Dominican experience, on a different level, this is the ideal place. More than an ecolodge, it's an oasis. You will definitely believe it when you reach the El Charco de los Militares or God's swimming pool after a pleasant hike in Alfredo's company. If the stunning mountain view is not enough, the crystalline water will surely impress you. I recommend Tubagua as a perfect weekend with your friends, important others and/or family. Also as a single traveler you enjoy the experience. It is an oasis full of wonders, beauty and simplicity that will fulfill the wanderlust and adventurers, city dwellers, as well as those who live in the countryside. You won't regret it!

Thanks for Tim the owner who makes such an amazing relaxing atmosphere. Great tour options, nature walks, don't forget to go see God's swimming hole.
