Great hole in the wall type of place, full of locals, very affordable. This place is one street west of the main drag, you will miss it if walking too fast. Simple menu, our tortas were delicious... View all feedback.

We ate here twice while visiting Puerto Morelos. The staff do not speak English but we were able to communicate our order by pointing at the menu (in spanish) and using our limited spanish vocabulary. The meals are very reasonable and delicious.
A very good breakfast either on the street patio or inside the restaurant itself Kitchen is cleanThe cook and helper speak only only Spanish - it some time to communicate even via a translator app that i wanted breakfast First i had a cokeCoke in glass bottles seems to be the morning beverage of choiceEventually i realized the score - and i choose the eggs Rancheros ( heuvos)They were good - a bit watery though for what i usually prefer - then again that is personal preferenceThe meal was served with tortilla bread , rice , beans and a very good hot sauceThe restaurant sits across the street from the park de tejones If you are lucky at 3 pm the cook wades across into the park , across the fence and feeds the little tejone racoon like creatures and crocodiles if they are waiting Inexpensive nice meal - as per subtitle sign in front - Cocina Econimica
I must say I have walked by this little place many many times on the second street - that is Ave Ninos Heroes - that is the second street just off the roadway to the highway OXO convenience store and wonderedThere always - at least during the daytime - were many Mexican locals sitting , smiling and enjoying their mealsThere always seems to be handwritten specials signs out front as well It looked fairly clean and I wonderedI tried to talk to the hefty chef / cook / owner or manager who looks like a full size football player and wonderedYet he only spoke SpanishI finally bit the bullet - sat down and pointed to another patron's nice breakfast and was pleasantly surprisedIt was quite good - and once in I was able to inspect the kitchen of this breakfast nookIt seemed well equipped and cleanRecommended
