I definitely didn't expect to have one of the best authentic Italian meals of my life in Mexico, but this place was exactly that. If things like air conditioning and fancy washrooms are important to you, don't go, but the rest was fab. What User doesn't like about La Lanterna:
we have not managed to eat the hygienic situation on this place, all we have ever seen! the owner screamed constantly at his personal, feeding his dog (which moves around the restaurant, including the kitchen,) smoking in the kitchen and drinking. the personal took forever as a menu and take our beverage order! in any case, this place cannot recommend! If we're ever back in puerto escondido, it'll be the first place we're going!
You're not going to the service. they do not expect any air conditioning. Maybe you'll wait one more out before they give you a table. the house has made pasta for everything. especially the pasta with seafood! heavenly!
The first time we ate here I thought we would have to leave because my wife's face looked so she was having a stroke but no it was just rapture at the tomato basil sauce. We have been back to this resaurant every time that we...are in Puerto as it consistantly has given us excelent meals(lunch and dinner) and have have taken friends and vips here knowing that the food will not dissapoint. I will be retuning in November for the Fillet migon.
