Cafe Yucca - Puerto de la Cruz

We had capucinos here plus a very good apple tart. Liked the place which was clean, modern and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would have given it 5 stars but things turned a bit unusual when we went to pay. As I mentioned the place seemed very up to date but they don't accept credit or debit cards. Cash only. Furthermore the bill was totted up in the cashiers head and there was a significant overcharge. This sowed some doubts since it was a simple addition and if the cashier does this all the time she should be very expert. Finally no receipt was offered. I don't know what was going on but I can't help but think that something was not right.

What a gorgeous small independent cafe, we called in the first day of our holiday and returned every day after, spotlessly clean, fabulous cakes and fantastic service, would highly recommend a visit.

Simply the best cakes ever ... as long as you're not counting calories ... and, if your reading reviews for a German style cafe, you clearly aren't. My personal favourites are the Rhabarbentorte (rhubarb) and the Stachelbeerentorte (gooseberry) (hmmm ..... and the Granatapfelntorte (pomegranate) is pretty good as well) ...OK ... I'm indecisive but to be honest just see what's on offer on the day ... they're all good. And, if you've not got a sweet tooth, the quiche is good. Enjoy!
