The dining experience was fantastic! I noticed that certain meats and sides are quite popular, but I was fortunate enough to try the brisket, which was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend giving it a try. There are plenty of seating options for families, and it’s also a great spot for a quick lunch break. Definitely worth the visit! View all feedback.
My wife and I came for lunch. We ordered the Sampler Plate. 4 meats. 4 sides. 2 breads. For our meats we decided on: brisket, spicy sausage, pork, and ribs. Sides: Mac n cheese, potato salad, beans, and creamed corn. Bread: corn bread and garlic toast. It was definitely enough food to feed two adults. Atmosphere was nice. We liked to decor. My wife liked that they had Coke products. Because we smoke meats at home, we are always a little critical about going out to eat for BBQ. The meats in general were on the drier side. Not bone dry, but not super juicy either. The seasoning was underwhelming. Basically tasted like a slightly smoked meat. I described to my wife that the meat tasted like a combination of gas and wood was used to create the heat and smoke Pork definitely needed sauce. Ribs were competition style . Not fall off the bone, but had a bite to it. Which isn 't bad, just a different technique, but don 't expect super tender ribs. Sausages were decent. Not that spicy. Brisket was cooked well. Tender, but still on the dry side. I don 't think we could choose one meat that was our favorite. They were all about the same. The sides were, in our opinion, better than the meats. The corn and Mac n cheese were creamy. The beans had chunks of meat and were tender. (Not chili beans. But legit BBQ beans). The potato salad was spot on. I 'm not a fan of any corn bread, but it was dry according to my wife. Garlic toast was good. We tried all of the sauces: house, hot, Alabama (white), mustard, Carolina sauce and sweet. Sauces were good. (If you don 't know what sauce goes with what meat, you better educate yourself. LOL).
Great place with great barbeque. they can't beat the customer service and their meat is top-tier. this is my favorite barbeque place in provo without doubt. their sides are also killer. try them 5 stars when they are a lover of fine smoked meat.
How mama used to do it! I had the best bbq! mac and cheese that melt their souls and quality bbq to calm them down as they smell the maisbrot that they dedicate with a little honeybutter naturally. this is a must try if they love bbq! also great customer service that will welcome them like family.
Check out my review on Yelp... These guys are amazing and their food is so flipping delicious!!when I walked in I was greeted by the nicest restaurant manager I've even met, thank you 5Star BBQ!!: :
Over priced and the pricing model isn’t uniform across their offerings. The food was great but you pay for it, especially if you order specific items. You can get a pound of brisket for $17.50. I paid $15.95 for what you see in my attached photo. That is the two meat plate with two sides. I asked for my two meats to both be brisket. I watched them prep four of their Chuck Anderson sandwiches before my order and they had just as much brisket if not a tad more than my dish and they only cost $10.50. When the manager was processing my payment he asked if I got the single meat or two meat plate. I thought it should be obvious by looking at it if I had twice as much meat on my plate. I asked him why I was paying almost $6 more than the $10.50 Chuck Anderson sandwich which has a similar amount of meat. He mentioned the fact of the extra side and bread and that I paid extra for the brisket. It is true you pay extra for the brisket with the two plate dish but you don’t pay any extra for brisket on the Chuck Anderson. I am unsure why that is, but if you go there remember that you will get more for your buck with the Chuck Anderson sandwich. As you can see in my photo the bread is just a slice of Texas Toast buttered with garlic butter, so I can’t see that being of much cost even to the customer. The sandwich has bread of its own in the sandwich so you really do get a lot more for your money with the sandwich. If you do want good tasting authentic BBQ then this place is good for that if a person is willing to pay for it.
