A hidden jewel! This place is easy to miss, as the only way to get it from the highway to Progreso (if you leave Progreso, you need to take the Flamboyanes exit and get on the inbound side of the highway) and even driving in there is no sign of shutdown. But it is definitely worth the effort to find it. They give the classic appetizers before your meal (beans, beans etc.) and the food is great. Both the boquinete and the mero were fresh and tasty (boquinete is a thicker white meat, mero has a bit more taste/seafood taste) and the shrimp Ceviche was perfect. Try everything in salsa remos, it was fantastic!

Good food. Great salad bar. If you're a carnivore, that's the place for you.

Just outside the Puerto Progresso Remos was an oasis for us. The food is nice, although there are no free botanas. We love the Pesca, Camerons and the fried bananas. The breezy location has seen more traffic noise than years ago, but the Rio is always beautiful.
