It is a locals joint with... read more El Toro is not close to the tourist zone of Progreso - which makes it perfect. It ain't pretty - but you don't go there for the view. It is a locals joint with some of the best fried fish your gonna find, fresh caught, cooked right, super tasty, and at the right price. The only downsides is that it can be really crowded - hot and the flys at certain times of the year can be a bit of a bother - But the food is worth all of that. Please don't go or tell anyone about this joint (;>) cuz' we don't want it to change at all. Yummy plus !!

Lo me... read more Establecimiento sumamente antiguo [creo que tiene más de 50 años de funcionar] que se caracteriza por ser una auténtica tradicional pescadería progreseña. Lo mejor que se puede comer allí es un boquinete frito entero o bien, mero frito entero o, en su caso, postas de esmedregal frito. Además ofrecen ceviches y cocteles.

The waiter brought out several fish... read more Don't eat at the overpriced places along the beach. El Toro does not have the ocean view but it has excellent pescado frito. The waiter brought out several fish for me to choose. We got 6 to 8 little plates of appetizer with our beer. The price is very reasonable.
