After eating... read more Progreso is hit or miss with finding good food and the reviews for this restaurant all point to it being a great restaurant with excellent service. After eating here, I'm confused by how many of the reviews of the food are positive. Very confused. They have a nice staff with friendly guys that speak some english. The small tapas that come with the drinks kicked off the evening nicely. Good chips, beets, black beans, a nice assortment that tasted good. The margaritas were weak on the alcohol, but refreshing nonetheless. Then the two orders of ceviche came and they were so salty that it was hard to eat. The shrimp burrito was next and also salty, but good green chile, and the shrimp skewer was a skewer of overly salted vegetables and shrimp. The amount of salt in the food seemed way beyond what a chef who smokes cigarettes might do because he/she cannot taste. The food was just not very good. Again, nice guys, but the kitchen need to reign in the salt to let the flavors of the food shine. I was bloated before leaving the restaurant and that's me not even finishing one of the dishes we ordered.
