King's Head Inn - Prince William

This place is perfect for a Victorian Christmas dinner. Book well in advance; this means several months. Arrive at 6:30 PM for drinks and Christmas carols. Menu is pre-set at Goose; Turkey or Roast beef. Stuffing is oyster or sage. All staff are in period costume; lighting is by candle only and the fire is so delightful.

We went with the Garrison Club for their annual Christmas dinner. It was a treat to step back in time and enjoy a hearty home cooked meal. We were in a large room above the pub. There was a group singing Christmas Carols in period costumes, a roaring fire and a huge tree decorated like it would have been 200 years ago. It was noisy but it added to the charm of this historical site.

I suggest that all visitors to Kings Landing have a meal at the Kings Head Inn as it is like stepping into a time machine. The food and drink are prepared and served as they would have been 200 years ago and are very enjoyable, and hearty fare would be a good description. Even usually fussy teenagers enjoyed our lunch there.

We chose this location to hold our yearly work Christmas party, and needless to say it was a special treat. So lovely, first class all the way. I recommend it especially if you are a fan of the older style homes.

Have eaten at this Inn many times and have been happy with meals. There is a "pub" on the ground floor where spirits and beer are served. Take a couple of days and enjoy Kings Landing Historical Settlement; same site.
