Safeway - Prince Rupert

Ate lunch here. Much more to choose than most grocery stores. Also a Starbucks. Good place to get something fast.

Good sized deli counter, bakery, hot food counter, antipasti bar and all the other regular food departments of a supermarket. And a Starbucks in store. There is also a small pharmacy area. We were not able to find a travel adaptor here so the lines beyond grocery and household are somewhat limited but other stores in town can provide.

We visited Prince Rupert by Via Rail from Prince George. We were told to bring your own sandwich/snacks/etc. We visited Safeway's Bakery dept. to get something to eat on our return trip to Prince George. I am a retired Supermarket manager and found the grocery, produce and meat departments well stocked and presented. However the bakery department was one of the worst I have seen. The bakery was not open for business. Empty counters, poor selection, poor best before dates. Not impressed.

Handy to stop at before getting on the ferry, and easy to find what you need . Good selection of products and good pricing. The check out line was well staffed with friendly people with short line up time .

I along with my friend , her husband and mother stopped in at this Safeway to use the washroom which was beyond the most disgusting facility I have ever entered it wasn't clean or maintained at all. than as we ordered some food at their deli station we were served by the very rude unwelcoming Jackie M. We all ordered food which we under the impression this food would be hot and ready to eat which we later came to the conclusion it wasn't warmed what so ever nor was it ask or suggested for us to get it heated up. As a server in the hospitality industry for over 12 years shouldn't this be something offered to the customer when your ordering from a deli station ?! We were traveling and went into this Safeway happy and in good spirits and left disgusted and beyond disappointed !
