it is a family business for decades where they remember to treat them like family, big buffet on Friday Saturday. basic price design great eating. I drive to at least 6 other Chinese places on my 30 km drive there and always worth...you can taste the bark and green paprika wayne’s away for a tasty egg. one time, we forgot something new that she asked if we didn't really say, boom, she cleaned it from the table, took... What Kieran Kub doesn't like about Jumbo Restaurant:
You definitely get your bang for a buck here and the food tastes great. However, if you have issues with MSG or Chinese 5 Spice, like many Chinese restaurants, don't eat here. I would say much better than most Chinese Restaurants in pg. View all feedback.
Smorg:equals no service, of course. No chat, no hello, no explanation, other than "yeah, go ahead, if you want. You can sit over there. (or not, whatever)Food is between **** and unknown. Sometime unknown Chinese can be an adventure, but here is just a voyage into salt and sugar. Blech blech blah.Items, such as chicken wings are there by the 3's and 5's and yet still manage to never be fresh, stuck to the bottom of the steel inserts, the SS pork has a layer of coagulated cornstarch over it that makes it hard to get to the lumps beneath. Consider it a blessing. If you are careful, you can pick out the bits of broccoli that are still green, leaving behind what may have once been broccoli but is now a grey, broccoli shaped non-food item. The wontons, in broth, are not revolting. they are wontons in broth. who knows, they may come out of the same giant can all wontons on Chinese smorgs come from. The broth needs work. Maybe just less water. The fried rice is wet and perhaps dyed more than fried, the chow mein is just noodles, wetted and heated up. Not a trace of, say, cabbage or onions or sprouts. Completely low end and not worth bothering with. Why not try the Hart Wheel Inn, not far north, with a similar smorg, for the same price, and yet somehow much much better.
It's a family run business for decades, where they remember to treat you like family, great buffet on Friday
Always good. Fast friendly service. I find ordering dishes is better than the combos. This is my go to place all the time.
I do take-out from the Jumbo when ever I'm craving Chinese. From the outside, it's nothing special, but the food has always been awesome. After I get it home or have it delivered, it is still hot an hour after opening it. You can't ask for anything better. I reheat the next day in the oven, and it's just as great as the first time opening it. I don't find it greasy, and the staff/owners are always pleasant to deal with. They are very well priced. You get more than what you paid for and that keep you coming back.
Ive been eating from Jumbo ever since I can remember and for good reason. It is the best, fair priced Chinese food in Prince George. The delivery is quick and eating In is always pleasant because the people working there are so friendly.
