Stopped here on a trip to Munich for lunch. The fish is amazingly fresh and service is quite good. the menu does offer a great deal. Would recommend if you are int he area. View all feedback.
Very disappointed in the menu and maybe the lowest quality meal we had during our week at Chiemsee. The restaurant caters to big tourist groups and is simply too big to provide quality food and / or good service. We started with the local lake fish ("Renee"), a typically very tasty fish with similar attributes to a trout but this was dry and tasteless. We had a second dish with the same fish, this time raw as "matjes", a bit better but still underwhelming. The local mushrooms ("Pfifferlinge"), advertised as special, were covered in a thick sauce and came with a big "Knoedel" (???), you could count the actual number of mushrooms on two hands. The venison was over-cooked, chewy and in a thick herb crust (which was somewhat tasty but we couldn't taste the meat). The service staff worked hard but just couldn't cope with the large number of guests (and they told me that they were not even booked out !).There are much better places to eat around the Chiemsee. Sadly, the fish died in vain ...

Medium rare superb ! Good selection of red wines and if you dare a collection of snapps and disputes ! enjoyable evening . Probably need to book and take comfortable shoes !!
We ate here as a large group and were not disappointed - there is an excellent selection of different food and even though it is a fish restaurant, there are meat and non-meat options and some Bavarian specialities. Portions are of a good size and there is an extensive wine menu. Ask to see the schnapps collection - the bottles are enormous!
Even if the menu is large and ha also steaks and other stuff you should definitely go for the Excellent fish meals.
