Good range of Panini etc and cakes. Was fine for us whilst passing time between trains. The highlight was not in fact the food/service but something entirely different which restores ones faith in humanity ! My wife left our umbrella in the café on a... View all feedback.
What TurtlesHead doesn't like about Upper Crust:
Abysmal breakfast roll, under cooked with a rubber egg. below par coffee overfilled cup minimal milk in Americano with milk. At a price of over £8:00. A disgusting experience. At an exorbitant price. I won’t be visiting here again.. View all feedback.

Came in today to grab a sandwich before a connecting train. I had a reusable cup from a well known coffee chain but was asked to leave before I could even make a purchase, as, in the words of the female member of staff who approached me, they were her competitor and she couldn 't allow me to sit in with it on show. I was confused and extremely embarrassed, and left, but noted that other people were sitting in the vicinity with cups from other chains located in the station. This was a bizarre and completely unnecessary interaction from the member of staff, who didn 't even give me chance to explain or make me feel comfortable enough to continue a purchase. This did not feel like an issue with policy, of which I would have understood, but felt targeted because of a certain brand and then humiliated in a busy environment. I have often purchased from this place in the past, but will now no longer be a returning customer.
The service is very friendly and efficient. Very tasty ham, mozzarella and rocket baguette with a cinnamon swirl.
While it cost £5.25, the heated chicken katsu in a roll was delicious with lots of meat. Staff were efficient. Preston railway station is a stunningly beautiful Grade 11 listed heritage building. I love using rail in the UK.
