This restaurant is the perfect alternative to the Lake District for those who don't want to drive too far. It is located at just 266 meters above sea level and offers beautiful sculptures similar to those in Whinlatter, but closer to home. View all feedback.
What davidwilliambarnes doesn't like about The Cafe Beacon Fell:
Beacon Fell is so lovely but is let down by The Café. There isn't a wide choice really and the prices are a bit on the high side, especially if there are a lot of you? It is much better and more natural to bring a picnic. View all feedback.
Called for lunch over half term with a 5 year old excellent explanation of menu welcoming staff super lunch
Great café for a nice hot cuppa and a sandwich or cake after that beautiful walk only face 4* as no dogs allowed
I came here with friends. We arrived 15 minutes before closing and found the staff to be very unwelcoming to the point of rudeness. We were told that we couldn 't have a sandwich because she had cleaned up and we couldn 't pay by card because she had tilled up. As we were leaving one of the staff members rudely pointed at our empty packets, cups etc and said what are you going to do about that? All in all not a good visit.
I was very pleased to see that the Beacon Fell cafe is open again. It flows into the visitor centre which is a great place to start a walk around the feature. Coffee and teas with confectionery. Very popular location as i visited on a Thursday in Summer and the co-located car park was very busy.
Clean and pleasant place to get a snack but the menu is basic and the quality is bog standard, it is however very overpriced for what it is, but I suppose they are able to charge so much due to the location. The wellie swap/ borrow box is a nice idea.
