Contribute FeedbackThe Cast Iron Grill, situated within a bustling hotel, presents a mixed dining experience. While the ambiance and some dishes delight, service inconsistencies persist. Guests have reported delays in food arrival, with certain meals overcooked and portions occasionally too small. However, many commend the quality of the ingredients, especially the fillet steak and seafood dishes. The atmosphere is inviting, and many patrons appreciate the attentive staff. Despite occasional service flaws, the overall sentiment leans positive, with repeat visits recommended for those seeking quality dining within the hotel’s limited options.
Great hotel restaurant . The Cat Iron Grill offers a small but adequate menu. Service can be a little on the slow side. Read the menu carefully as only some dishes come with vegetable others you have to add them on. The quality of the foom is very good but the portion sizes are a little on the small size.
Apparently they were too busy to serve a single hotel guest, and I was sent to the bar... Tough to justify considering that the place has been empty for the post couple of hours.
Compliments to the Chef. Steaks cooked to our liking, lamb cooked beautiful. Bread platter very nice. Staff very attentive, and efficient.
During my stay at the hotel, I decided to dine at their signature restaurant. As a fan of BBQ and meat, the menu was quite appealing to me. After much deliberation, I chose the rack of pork over the rump steak. The dish took quite some time to arrive (around 30 minutes), and when it did, I realized why. It seemed like the two loin chops had been on the grill for too long, resulting in them being dry and tough like shoe leather. The pork was nearly inedible due to its overcooking. However, the staff were kind enough to remove the meal from my bill and only charge me for the side salad. Despite this, the fact that the hotel is located in an area without many other dining options makes it crucial for their food to be of good quality. Unfortunately, my experience at the restaurant did not meet my expectations, and it seems like their chefs may need to revisit the Cast Iron Grill Chef school.
I have been staying at this hotel for the past 5 weeks and the service has been outstanding, with the exception of one evening. The food is of excellent quality, and the liver and mustard mash was fantastic. I highly recommend trying the Devon Crab Linguine!
