The weekend breakfast buffet is a local dr... read more We have been coming to the Bridgeview since 1976. It's not fancy, but the food is good and the quality is consistent. The weekend breakfast buffet is a local draw, with all kinds of good things (and some strange ones,too) to try. The diner hasn't changed in forever, so if you're into the classic diner thing, you won't find a better place. The patio is right on the river at the marina with (you guessed it) a view of the Johnstown-Ogdensburg bridge! The patio is a unique structure: part party tent, part RV parts, part board on board fence...charming! Well worth a drive to Johnstown, or a stop before or after crossing the bridge.

If you DO ... than pull up a chair to THIS buffet! Excellent selection of sides as well as a full salad bar. I can't even TALK about the dessert selection without salivating! Deliciously home made blueberry pie, coconut cream. black forest cake. Our server was efficient and friendly and had excellent manners, something which is sadly becoming a rarity. All in all a fabulous "home cooked" meal for a fabulously reasonable price.Wish we lived closer!

The hostess couldn't locate our reservation, but since the restaurant wasn't busy, she was able to seat us. Unfortunately, we waited 45 minutes without being greeted by our waitress. She didn't even offer us a glass of water during this time. Despite only half of the patio tables being occupied, the waitress prioritized clearing tables over taking orders. We eventually decided to leave as we were fed up with the poor service. We won't be returning.

Next time, I want to try their baked goods.
