We stopped for lunch and tried the brisket tacos this time. Incredible! I added avocado and they really didn't need it. Tacos are huge and so tasty. Great job to the pitmaster as well. My girl had the brisket with both cuts, damn good!! View all feedback.
What Jennings Wolff doesn't like about Colt Grill Bbq Spirits:
I have eaten at Colt Grill in Prescott Valley and Cottonwood. I was noticing after ordering that as part of the pay They are requesting a TIP or make it an option I think this is dishonest Profit Center At Colts you walk in order and pay The Tip option is presented. Now for most people a TIP is for service and sometimes food. AT Colts There is no service. You pick up your food, You get your drink and any sauces. You... View all feedback.
The exterior of this restaurant on Montezuma Street in Prescott looked promising, but unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. Aside from the friendly woman who took our order, the service was quite lackluster. It all began with tipping before we had even experienced the meal. The ordering process is self-serve, with someone manning the counter, so there is no actual server. They really need to address their hiring practices. On the counter was a glass jar labeled “Cashier Tips.” We placed our order and took a seat at the bar, which unfortunately was directly beneath two leaking fixtures, making both the floor and bar wet in several areas. The bar stools were covered in a fluffy material, reminiscent of those "western" padded seats—great in theory, but not practical in a restaurant setting where spills are inevitable. It felt like a recipe for disaster, and I wasn’t eager to sit on them. Eventually, a man whose speech was difficult to understand called out our order number for pickup at the window. There were three people working, but it seemed like only one was handling orders, which didn’t bode well for efficiency. Our food arrived in paper containers that began to disintegrate and mix with the food. Not ideal at all; the food was dry and served ice-cold. My bratwurst was shockingly undercooked, with a thick layer of fat that required a knife to slice through. The whole point of brisket is for it to be tender enough to fall apart with a fork—this was anything but that. A measly teaspoon of BBQ sauce, reminiscent of a boring Kansas-style sweet sauce, didn’t help. It was topped with wilted lettuce and a sad tomato, which only added to my disappointment. The bun was okay, but my companion’s pulled pork was only marginally better. We both only managed to eat half of our meals. When I asked the bartender for a to-go box, he ignored my request, so I ended up searching for one myself. To make matters worse, he didn't even process our beer tab correctly. We patiently waited for change from a twenty-dollar bill after leaving a two-dollar tip on a six-dollar beer. We left without any excuse for the lack of service. The overall environment wasn’t great either, with several broken floor tiles adding to the unkempt atmosphere. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I wouldn't recommend it.
Colt Grill in Prescott is currently not dog-friendly. While it may become so in the future, there is no outdoor dining available at the moment. If you need to bring your furry friend, you can take a short trip to the Colt location in Prescott Valley. The food is fantastic!
We decided to order the Philly cheesesteak and brisket, paired with baked beans, mac and cheese, and some fries. Let me tell you, if you haven't tried a cheesesteak with brisket, you're truly missing out. The brisket was incredibly tender, practically melting in my mouth, and they offer some of the most delicious BBQ sauces I've ever encountered. Having enjoyed both mahogany and wagyu beef, I’m well aware of exquisite flavors, and this brisket was outstanding. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting, and the staff was exceptional. The combination of such wonderful people and the best BBQ I've ever experienced is why I'd gladly travel over 100 miles just to dine at Colts in Prescott, Arizona. Thank you, Stephanie, for being so amazing!

Tips are something that are given at the end of the experience, and is meant to express gratitude for quality service. Asking for tips up front is rude and customers should have the option of taking it back when service does not meat expectations. If this is a tactic to get larger tips up front in hopes of good service, it may work once but after that it could do the opposite, given the service. Got our food to go and was charged extra. They charge more for to-go orders but they do not give you anything but your food. No utensils or napkins and for a BBQ restaurant you would think that should be in the bag especially if you are going to charge extra. Does not make sense to charge extra for to-go orders when it cuts your demand on labor from staff. Husband said his burger was one of the best burgers he had ever had. The brisket tacos were pretty good. Pulled pork sandwich was also really good. Menus and glass surfaces were dirty and it did not feel clean. Fries were soggy and slaw was warm and lacked flavor. Not okay with being charged extra for taking our food to-go, not getting what we need to eat the food we bought, and having to tip up front and still getting less than average service. To Expensive to be enjoyable. Portions are small and sides are not included. Not worth it.
