Was Anonym at Le 8 a mag?
Great place for business lunches, ables are wide apart so that you can have confidential conversations...business people and HNWI living in the area come for lunch....food is solid, but the quality price ratio is not stellar (I guess typical for most of the Werstner...part of Switzerland) View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about Le 8:
when we approached the restaurant, we could see that it was a rather contemporary lack of real character. a bit like a modern day bistro. the genfer see was a bonus, but not for eating or service. we had both Minced...Veal zurich style, which we often had in the past. My husband and I had dinner here on a Saturday night not quite knowing what to expect. We ended up having the most incredible dinner with very attentive service and exceptional food a highly inventive menu with subtle flavours, great attention to detail and beautiful presentation. I had the scallops/crab starter with granny smith apples followed by the Renne (it 's chasse season) with all its trimmings very clearly home made trimmings (frequently not the case in other restaurants) including poached apple, chestnuts, red cabbage (beautifully presented) and some divine potato/pumpkin croquettes with a vanilla sauce, the meat was perfectly cooked, really delicious, good quantities too. The desert was also fabulous, a home made cigar chocolate biscuit filled with a cardamon flavoured cream and chocolate and with a cold granite , type of sorbet served alongside. The choice on the menu is very varied with lots of meat, fish and also vegetarian options, and a nice wine list. We discovered (because he did a tour of the tables always a nice touch) that the chef is young, from Martinique originally, has worked in many locations worldwide (hence the very cosmopolitan style to the menu), and has been at the hotel for just 5 months. He is clearly extremely talented and is obviously turning things around, he mentioned that the restaurant is going to be completely re vamped and made into a more modern bistrot style which is a good idea and will be much more in keeping with his food style. The prices are in line with what you expect in the region, but the creativity of the food and the presentation make this one a winner and the service was great too! It was dark so we couldn 't see the views of the lake, but it must be nice eating on the terrace in summer or watching the view over lunch. We shall definitely be back!

The location is just superb! However if you consider the price tag for the food you get it is rather expensive. I had the filets de perches which is one of my favorite dish along side the lake. I thought they were average. The sauce...was not what I expected, it was cold. Normally meunieres should be warm. The service was good. If you want a nice location go for it, but if you are after exceptional food choose another place...

Found a rubber band in the pumpkin soup. The waitress was very aplologetic but the management acted like we had put the rubber band in the soup. They had the audacity to be rude and then without an apology say we did not have to...pay. Of course we payed for every item including the rubber band soup.

Bravo to the team in the kitchen and for the service. meal was great, service very professional and friendly.

We have booked a table for a special dinner and it was terrible. we sat outside and expected something quite high. what we got were plastic, slow service, ugly presentation and unspecific eating. the eating looked like it was thrown on the plates I would never recommend this place.
