Was User at Three Monkeys a mag?
My wife and i ate here the other day.It was a hip, funky, grungy, clicky bar / cafe / restaurant. We actually quite liked it.The food portions are fresh and generous. The prices are a little on the steep side, $12 for a glass of pinot grigio, but then again it was a generous pour.So really quite acceptable. We would est there again and recommend it. What User dislikes about Three Monkeys:
sat outside food was average drinks to expensive $9 for a bottle of beer get real if you charge more than $6 for a 330 ml bottle of beer you will not sell much if they were $ cheeper between us we would have drunk about 4 each but only had the 1 each, sorry. View all feedback.

Attended here with a couple of friends for dinner on a Tuesday night while visiting in Melbourne. We each ordered a burger which I would say was one of the best burgers I've had. The price was reasonable and the service was great. We ordered a bottle of the Three Monkeys red wine which was again reasonably priced and tasted great. The only negative for me was the volume of the music as I found it a little too loud for a dinner setting and trying to talk with friends.Otherwise I would totally recommend it if you were wanting an awesome burger at a reasonable price!

Great place to chill put when there is no loud music, some days it's just so annoying, The place got a reggae style, nice variety of bottled beers and incredible burgers. Nachos are also worth to mention. The courtyard is perfect to relax and the staff is really helpful. Just an advice, get rid of that dj.....
Went for coffee and breakfast - coffee took about 15 mins to arrive (place was virtually empty!), breakfast never did. After 45 mins I asked what happened to the breakfast and basically it had been forgotten. To be fair they let me off paying for the coffee when I said I would go somewhere else instead, though that's the least they could do after wasting my time and forcing me to go somewhere else very hungry! I should also say I was not the only one suffering from the bad service, so it wasn't just a one-off issue - other tables were complaining about the wait as well (to each other) and getting wrong orders. Given there were only about 12 people in the whole place I can't see what the problem was and why it was all so slow and unwelcoming. The guy seemed like he didn't want to be there didn't engage with customers at all, which I think was part of the problem. There was a real lack of energy about the place. Chapel Street is very competitive for the cafe business with serving staff going out of their way in many places to keep the punters happy, so I'm not sure how this place can survive if this experience is any indication of normal activity. Hoping it wasn't, for their sake.

This is a great location for hosting a special event, hitting the dance floor, or simply enjoying some drinks with friends. The cocktails are fabulous and the staff is very welcoming.
I highly recommend Three Monkeys. The space is really cool and the staff is awesome!
I have been lucky enough to dine at Three Monkeys a few times now, and each visit just keeps getting better. It has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in Melbourne.
It was really quiet on a Sunday night, which I honestly didn't mind considering the cocktails were on point (try the hot apple pie/ hotbutteredrum) the atmosphere brought me back to my childhood with reggae playing in the background the cute decor reminded me of my grandmas house growing up... Serious nostalgia. The service was great, would definately go again
What a groovy little place full of character. The guys there are great people. They're friendly, all smiles and advanturious when it comes to wired drinks orders . Difinetly going there again

The bohemian, Forbidden Forest interior made me pause at Three Monkeys. And perusing the menu offerings made me check in for breakfast. The decor is...
Reggae booms, cold long necks and Wagu burger with the green chilli sauce. I'm a big fan of chapel street and this one my favs on the strip. Boom chagalaga!...
