We know Le Chef de Cuisine, Abou, for several years and has always admired his cooking. Together with four friends we wanted to visit him and test his food. This wednesday evening there was only the menu to choose. First salad either as Sea and Mountain (salmon and ham or salad with scrimps. A nice fresh experience. The main course was either fish (Dorado or duck. We skipped dessert. A nice selection of wines. The price for this two course dinner was EUR 14,00 !!!!Very reasonable price for this menu. We will visit the restaurant again and perhaps do it a lunch hour to take advantage of the terrasse. We were a little confused of the name of the restaurant, but think the correct name is: Le Festival (Pablo ? Hope that we next time also have the possibility to choose A la carte.
A practical stop on the way from Perpignan to Spain through the Catalan mountains, close to the Pradotel on the Rocade leading around Prades, Pablo 's reveals itself as a nicely furnished place with a comfortable terrace which serves very good, well designed and varied menus. While a thing or two may be missing for guide standards, this is an address where we were very nicely taken care off. Wine list focuses on local wines.
Next door to the Pradotel, this small restaurant has a lovely terrace with mountain views and a very good menu.
Although Le Pablo sits on the edge of town and is attached to a hotel just off the highway, it by far serves the best food, most expertly cooked and presented of any of the places we ate in Prades in four days. The staff simply could not be kinder and more attentive. The chef even drove us back to our hotel, as we were the last diners to leave and it was dark! One ends up feeling more than well-fed; one feels cared for as a fellow human being, not just a paying customer. Be sure to try the pate.
