We eat here quite regularly throughout the summer and thought we’d try the sunday lunch. (24th of March 2019)
Food was of the highest quality with a great variation on the menu. Absolutely gorgeous surroundings fire burning in the bar region, pheasants and wild birds in the gardens and breathtaking views of the lake from the restaurant.
This lovely hotel needs to get a better chef to bring the food up to the standard of the rest of the facilities here. It is a real weakness particularly as they havea captive audience. No change to drive anywhere else to eat from there.
WE visited the Restaurant for a quick lunch and opted for Sandwiches. One Sirloin steak Sandwich and a Cheese and Pickle Sandwich with soft drinks. We enjoyed the scenery as the meal was prepared watching Buzzard soaring above the Hotel and the magnificent views across Lake Vyrnwy. The sandwiches came with chips and salad and were superb. Super value for money too. Service was great too with the young man who looked after the bar really keen to help in any way he could
On a 2 night stay at Vyrnwy, we ate here twice. Starter was 'soup of the day ', told it was spiced pumpkin. It was, and was nice, albeit a little over seasoned. Main dessert excellent. Day 2 was even better, soup of the day was (You guessed) 'spiced pumpkin..... Beef fillet SUPERB.
