Contribute FeedbackThe Nags Head offers a mixed dining experience with some outstanding dishes offset by various disappointments. Service, ambiance, and portion sizes were top-notch for dinner, but breakfast and some menu items fell short. While some diners praised the roast dinner and chicken options, others found the food lacking in flavor and presentation. The cozy country pub setting and friendly staff helped elevate the overall experience for many customers. Despite some inconsistencies in quality, The Nags Head remains a popular dining spot in Powys.
Overall the service is friendly and efficient, food from the regular (non Sunday menu is good , well cooked and very reasonable prices . Only issue was by a table of noisy children, not the restaurants fault , parents letting kids run wild
Brilliant service at this restaurant, we came for my grandads birthday and the staff really made a fuss of him and were really attentive to all our needs. The food delicious (definitely recommend the duck) the atmosphere was perfect. We will definitely be back in the future, thankyou to all of the lovely staff for an amazing experience.
While on our way to Swansea, we decided to stop for dinner with our 4-year-old and 3-year-old kids. We stumbled upon The Nags Head, and dining with little ones can sometimes be challenging. However, the staff at this restaurant went above and beyond to make our kids feel welcome from start to finish. The food was fantastic, and my husband, son, and I enjoyed every bite. Unfortunately, my daughter found her pasta sauce a bit too spicy and refused to eat it. The staff noticed and offered her something else, which was amazing. She accepted, and her replacement meal came out quickly. We left with full bellies and a really positive experience at The Nags Head. The food was delicious, the staff was attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxed. We wish we lived closer so we could visit more often. Highly recommended.
This dog friendly pub restaurant is fantastic! The staff were very welcoming and attentive. The food was delicious, to be honest if it were a blind tasting and I did not know that we were in a pub I would not doubt it if somebody said that we were in a Michelin star restaurant. The decor is a perfect blend of traditional county pub and high quality modern countryside living. We will certainly be coming back.
