Nestled in the heart of Builth Wells, Cwtch Cafe emerges as a charming spot for both locals and visitors. Offering a delightful array of vegan and vegetarian options, the menu features changing specialties alongside comforting classics. Guests appreciate the friendly service and cozy atmosphere, though some have noted occasional wait times and a need for more attentiveness to customer experiences. Despite minor hiccups, the cafe's delicious food, spacious seating, and inviting decor make it a go-to destination for coffee, casual meals, and delectable cakes. Whether dining in or taking away, Cwtch Cafe promises a warm and satisfying visit.

My friends and I visited this restaurant for afternoon tea last weekend, and it was fantastic. They had a wonderful variety of cakes, and I was delighted to find out that I could upgrade to a latte at no additional cost (usually you have to pay extra for a latte). We are already planning our next visit because of the excellent service and friendly staff. The atmosphere was cozy, making it the perfect spot to relax with a coffee or refuel.
The restaurant is absolutely amazing! The decor is beautiful, the staff is lovely, and the food is incredible. We stumbled upon a hidden gem while passing through town.
My husband and I visited the restaurant on a cold Saturday in February for lunch. He chose the all day breakfast, which allowed him to customize his meal exactly how he wanted. I decided to try the chef's recommendation, the buttermilk chicken club sandwich. I was pleasantly surprised by the hint of rosemary in each bite, as it added a delicious touch without being overpowering. I only regret not having room for dessert. We will definitely be returning soon.
Wonderful place to eat in Builth. Friendly staff, interesting and tasting menu, excellent drinks and really good cakes. We will be back again as much as we can.
Around 20 of us has afternoon tea today. Highly recommend- loads of choice of homemade cakes, sandwiches and savouries. Great atmosphere, service and value for money. Thank you.

We were sat outside with the dogs and no one told us they were allowed inside as it was really cold. We waited 35 mins for two burgers and were told the lady in the kitchen was up against it as she was on her own. I had a chocolate milkshake the milk was off. I gave it back and they just sniffed it and put it down the sink ! Felt very disappointed with the visit, as the could have offered a coffee replacement, there just seemed a lack of care for a customer experience.
Lovely, dog friendly cafe with a good menu. A few gluten free options and excellent coffee. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Theres a selection of welsh produce available to but including some great Welsh cheeses.
We have been visiting this venue for over 15 years now and the staff and service have always been exceptional. It is now about six months since we we last called in on our bi annual trip to North Wales. We really looked forward as usual to our mid day meal here and called in yesterday for lunch and ordered our food. When we sat at our table, we found that the table top was very sticky, so much so that my jumper stuck to the surface. We ordered Salmon and Dill fishcakes and when the food arrived, the fishcakes were just lukewarm. To be honest, it was very disappointing. I have always enjoyed calling here for food but things seemed to have changed for the worse. I will try them once more on my next trip and if there is no improvement, we will sadly have to look for an alternative venue for our lunches.
A nice little cafe offering a good range of food, with a pleasant little tucked away and covered courtyard. We visited a few times during our nearby stay once for breakfast and once for a lunchtime panini. Both were good, generous and good value for money. The cakes looked good too, but we didn’t have room!
Called in for lunch staff we're really welcoming and the food was fabulous would definitely recommend this place to anybody

Pair of vegan main options (chilli and sweetcorn fritter) and several veggie options. they also had heel and soy milk and two different vegan cakes. reasonably priced and nice people. updated by previous review on 2022-06-29
On the high road in builth wells, there were 2 vegan cake options, soy milk provided and a few options on the menu. we had vegan sweet potato falafel salat with a side of chips that was great! dog-friendly in the outside area, but can be a bit tricky when it is busy.
Cwtch cafe is a cozy and friendly place, currently the only decent vegan options in bulth wells are their staff friendly and conscientious. their vegan options are delicious, but a little ad-hoc (vegan options are marked on the menu, but the specialties depend on what is on camp.) kitchen closes 30-60 minutes before closing time.
We had a great lunch, vegan burgers and chips, and sweetcorn frits with chips and salads. Great value for money. There is also an ice cream counter with some vegan options.
