Had a takeaway for three using an old menu. Supposed to be 10% off but when checked against the new menu there was no reduction. Not as much meat as if we had sat in the restaurant and £4.10 for cauliflower bhajee was excessive. Never again.
On New Year's Eve, despite the busy holiday, I called in for a takeout order and was told it would be ready in 45 minutes. However, after being asked to wait and told it wouldn't be much longer, I ended up waiting an additional 1 hour and 15 minutes. Talking to others in the restaurant, I learned they had experienced the same long wait. The staff continued to take phone orders, inaccurately telling customers it would only be an hour wait. Additionally, there were concerns about social distancing as the restaurant seemed to have a large number of people crowded around the counter.
The food at this restaurant was undeniably delicious, making it disappointing to have to leave a negative review. However, I felt extremely unsafe during my visit. The restaurant did not have any track and trace system in place, nor a QR code for scanning. The hand gel sanitiser dispenser by the door was not functioning. Customers were walking around and being seated at tables without wearing masks, and the staff had their masks halfway down their faces. Sadly, I will not be returning to this establishment.
Great restaurant, lovely folks running it and working there. My daughter and I are both vegan but it didn’t faze them at all. They went out of their way to prepare and serve food we were able to eat.Service was absolutely first class too. This is how to run a restaurant. We have been going here for nearly 18 years and it has always been superb. We will be back there again soon. Thank you all.
I felt cheated at this place. I ordered a bottle of beer and a medium glass of wine, which cost £11.95. I questioned the price while paying, but was told it was correct. When I got home, I checked their website and found out they should have charged me £3 less. I emailed them but received no response. I called them two weeks later and after almost three weeks, they replied saying the price was correct and that I had ordered a large glass of wine, which was not true. The service was also poor, as they tried to deliver other people's drinks to our table three times and gave me the wrong starter. The bill came to £55 for two drinks and very small portions. I will not be returning and suggest going to Spice Fusion instead for better service and lower prices.
