What K1505WKneils doesn't like about New Tredegar Arms:
Firstly this pub is beautiful set in a really nice location and inside is the right mix of traditional with a modern twist. The staff are superb and service is all round very good. However I must say the food is average, not sure how it gets such high ratings. We ordered 5 meals, the only standout meal was the chill con carne, spaghetti Bolognese and lasagna weren't particularly good and the kids chicken bite meal wa... View all feedback.

I had a late afternoon/evening meal with some friends, where we only ordered main courses and desserts. We had 2 seafood platters, 1 Hunters chicken, and a Lasagne, all of which were perfect! I personally enjoyed the Lasagne. The staff was very nice and efficient, and we didn't encounter any problems.
We made a reservation for 9 adults and 3 children at this restaurant. We arrived an hour early and the owner was very friendly, telling us to relax by the fire while they prepared our table. We all ordered the Sunday lunch, which was delicious, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming – perfect for a winter's day. However, the experience was marred by a young male waiter who was very rude. When two of the children were exploring the decor, he sharply told us to control our kids. Later, when one of the children and his father went to the restroom, the waiter rudely questioned their whereabouts before resuming his duties. This behavior made us feel embarrassed and uncomfortable, so we settled the bill and left. Despite the lovely venue and food, the unwelcoming attitude of this staff member has discouraged us from returning as a family.
We recently stayed with the Rees Family for the second time and once again felt very welcomed. The food, drinks, and friendly staff, along with the warm reception from the locals, made for a fantastic weekend. Our ride to the coast on Sunday, passing through Saundersfoot and other beautiful spots, was truly breathtaking. Steve, the outstanding motorbike mechanic, helped me with my slipping clutch while Stefan served us tea and coffee. Overall, it was a wonderful weekend and we are already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you to the Rees Family for a great experience. Sincerely, The Boys from Manchester.
Can't folt it from a village pub. Down to earth. Really good welcome and service not to mention the gratitude.
