Description

At Llangoed Hall, guests experience a culinary journey marked by both highs and lows. While many diners rave about the exquisite three-course meals, outstanding homemade bread, and attentive service, others have encountered disappointing dishes and service lapses. The afternoon tea has received accolades for its generous portions and delightful atmosphere, especially for families. Despite some inconsistency in food quality and staff attentiveness, the charming setting and overall experience lead many to express a desire to return. New staff members, like Kyron, have been noted for their exceptional service, hinting at potential improvements in the restaurant's hospitality.

We had an amazing dinner at this restaurant. The food was expertly cooked and incredibly tasty. The servers were top-notch, the lovely and serene atmosphere made for a very enjoyable evening, and we felt like we got our money's worth. We will definitely be returning.

Definitely not going back. Main course was not hot. Roast beef was too tough to cut with an ordinary knife, and difficult even with a steak knife. Yorkshire pudding was undercooked and stodgy. Honeycomb part of dessert was too hard to break into bite-sized pieces. To be fair, we were given a generous discount after we complained.

Had a spectacular 3 course meal today, beautifully created by the chef Jack. Layer upon layer of flavour in each course. And the divine marmite butter (hate marmite but love this). Will mostly certainly be returning to try some other dishes from the menu.

1. We arrived at 1.30 (table booked for 1.45). A lady member of staff came and asked us why we were there and obviously told her for Sunday lunch. She then walked away from us and left us standing in the hallway. 2. A young man came to our rescue and took us to the dining room to our table. We ordered a half bottle of sauvingnon blanc, which he brought to us and just placed it on the table (he did not open it and pour some for one of us to taste, neither was it in an ice bucket to keep cold). 3. We both ordered the salmon mousse with sea vegetables. It arrived but there was not a single sea vegetable in sight only apples and a few bits of micro herbs. I have a stomach condition and cannot eat apples!!!! The roast beef was very nice but there was no seasonal vegetables only roast carrot, parsnip and a small portion of kale with three large roast potatoes and a huge yorkshire pudding served on the plate. 4. We were not offered tea or coffee after our meal. 5. The Ladies toilets were not very good at all with empty toilet rolls and bits of toilet paper on the floor and the paper towel bin was overflowing with used towels on the floor.

Fantastic afternoon tea and service. Not only was the afternoon tea really lovely, it was really child friendly too. My son was even given an Easter egg as a gift towards the end of our meal. Carla looked after us really well and my son thought she was wonderful too! Thank you all for a lovely Easter Sunday.
