Locust Café presents a charming atmosphere adorned with local art, drawing visitors seeking a cozy spot for breakfast or lunch. While some dishes, such as the bacon and onion quiche, delight with their flavors, others, like the breakfast burrito and heirloom tomato caprese, leave much to be desired in taste and freshness. Service quality varies, with some staff appearing inexperienced, affecting the overall experience. Parking can be challenging, but nearby options exist. Despite its shortcomings, many diners appreciate the warm ambiance and local ingredient focus, making it a notable spot for casual gatherings or remote work.

Was Anja Gehrke at The Locust Table a mag?
I had to park on the next block and walk a bit, as the lot in front of Locust was full. Fortunately, there’s a big free parking lot in front of the police station nearby. The food was exceptional—absolutely delicious and offered at a reasonable price! I enjoyed the bacon and onion quiche of the day, along with a honey locust drink. View all feedback.
What Tool Man dislikes about The Locust Table:
I ordered the breakfast burrito, which arrived promptly but was neither warm nor flavorful. Fortunately, there’s a condiments bar with hot sauce and ketchup, which helped since the dish on its own had virtually no flavor. The ingredients seemed fresh, but it felt like the cook focused more on achieving perfect char marks on the tortilla than on properly warming or seasoning the filling.

The ingredients seemed fresh, but it felt like the cook focused more on achieving perfect char marks on the tortilla than on properly warming or seasoning the filling. The glaring looks of superiority and judgment from the other patrons only added to my discomfort. The cute, feminine atmosphere seems to be the main draw of this restaurant, as the food certainly isn't. Personally, I won’t be returning, but I doubt my absence will be noticed, as it’s clear I’m not their target audience.

The chicken salad sandwich was delicious and satisfying! However, the heirloom tomato caprese salad didn’t quite meet expectations. The tomato could have been riper, and the yellow tomato wasn’t actually an heirloom variety.
A lot of the staff that works here come across as clueless amateurs often befuddled needing cues on how to do their job. Some of the people who work here also lack proper work etiquette and would benefit greatly with better management…
