Shingle Mill Restaurant - Powell River
Shingle Mill Restaurant
Description
This restaurant offers beautiful views, but unfortunately, the service and food quality leave much to be desired. Some visitors have found the food to be overpriced and subpar, with certain dishes being nearly inedible. However, others have enjoyed pleasant experiences with well-prepared meals and excellent service. The location next to the wharf and views of Powell Lake are a definite highlight, making it a great place to dine. Despite some inconsistencies in food quality and service, many patrons have found this restaurant to be a lovely spot with a variety of menu options and a relaxing atmosphere.

Amazing!! The staff is wonderful and the food is delicious. We will definitely be returning next time we are in the area! Even though they don't have "cosmos" on their drink menu, they were able to make one for my wife and it was fantastic. The food was hot, fast, and fresh!
Wonderful spot. The staff was very attentive, the views were lovely, and the menu was good, although a bit on the pricier side. Most of our group ordered the Tenderloin, but one person opted for the Gumbo and another chose the Scallops and Pork Belly. Everyone really liked their meals. We ended the evening with the indulgent Lava cake for dessert.
I was visiting family in town and decided to have dinner at this restaurant with my mom. We both ordered pasta dishes; I had the scallop fettuccine and she had the blackened chicken linguine. We were both pleased with our meals. The service was excellent too!
Very enjoyable! This great little pub has a big deck overlooking the marina on Powell Lake. We had a lovely time enjoying drinks and food while watching the Harbour Air float plane and numerous boats coming and going. Beer was excellent and our mushroom cheese burger was delicious! The mushrooms on the burger were particularly fantastic. The servers were friendly and service was very good, especially considering how busy they were. We understand the chef is relatively new and is definitely doing a good job! We just wish we were local so we could try some of the other things on the menu another day. Maybe next year!
Helped the family launch the boat in the lake and decided to stop for lunch. The service was slow; asked for a water with lemon did not happen: no lemon (although other tables seemed to get lemon.... ; waiting for our order was even SLLLOOOWWWEEER. The food was OK. My husband's brisket was too sweet and I think there was no dressing on my salad if it was there, it was pretty nondescript. The shrimp and avo used to be served in a delicious croissant. No longer. It was in a toasted ?brioche bread. Not really adequate service for a late lunch on a weekday.
