I'm giving this Winchell's donut shop five stars not because they have my favorite donuts (Krispy Kreme), but because they have excellent bagels and sandwiches and very good donuts and they are open 24 hours a day! I've tried their tuna sandwich and turkey melt on toasted bagels and they were delicious, much better than Subway, Jersey Mikes, Schlotskies or other sandwich places in my opinion. I usually grab half dozen donuts $9.99) when I come here. Their prices have risen since 2021, but so every other donut has room in San Diego. They have a variety of donuts on rotation.
