This great little Thai place was recommended by lovely friends of mine (Joyce&Jim) and I love it. House salad comes with fried tofu and the Tom Kha is very tasty and filling but just a heads up?I got spice level 5 on 1-10 scale and thought it might be too high but got a small chili paste in case and with chili paste I still could?ve gone up a notch or two on spice level. Lovely, clean, quaint and courteous, friendly... View all feedback.
What Vernon Monahan doesn't like about Bua Thai:
Ordered for to go today. The 2 Thai Fried rice were super salty and can not be eaten. Stir Fried eggplants was too salty even mixed with rice. Fried spring rolls were good. And Larb Kai was super salty and I don't know what to do with it...I used to dine here last year and it was totally disappointment. I called them and they offered the replacement. But it does not worth the time to drive out there in the rain.. Hop... View all feedback.
I was referred to this fantastic Thai restaurant by my friends Joyce and Jim, and I absolutely adore it. The house salad comes with fried tofu, and the Tom Kha soup is delicious and satisfying. Just a warning, I ordered a spice level 5 out of 10 and thought it might be too hot, but they gave me a small chili paste on the side. With the chili paste, I could have handled a higher level of spice. The restaurant is lovely, clean, and charming, with courteous and friendly service.
Bua Thai is one of the best Thai restaurants in San Diego! They offer a wide variety of traditional dishes made from scratch, including their seasonings and sauces. The chef's pride in her cooking shines through in the authentic flavors of each dish.

Bua Thai is one of my FAVORITE Thai restaurants in SD!! Their menu is very expansive with many super traditional dishes. Everything is made from scratch including many of their seasonings and sauces. You can taste the authenticity in every dish because the chef takes so much pride in her cooking.
The dishes were delicious and generous enough to share. Everything was flavorful and beautifully presented. The calamari appetizer was especially popular. The service was excellent. I will definitely be returning!
