Nirvana cafe and pizzeria - Pouskar

Nirvana Restaurant in Pushkar is a truly beautiful place to stay and relax. The rooftop allows for smoking, and the food and drinks, especially the fruit juices, are delicious. Max, the owner, is extremely cool. If you plan on spending a few days in Pushkar, Nirvana Restaurant and Hotel is a must-visit!

The food at this restaurant is excellent and the atmosphere is fantastic. Situated at Varaha Ghat, this restaurant on the third floor offers a stunning view of the lake and the town. I was shocked by the negative review below because I received great service during my visit and never felt like I was being taken advantage of. Perhaps the reviewer was just unlucky and visited on a bad day.

Your attention is drawn by the online photos of its ambiance. You visit this place having high expectations. You expect a humble and nice warming gesture from the staff esp the one who heads the highest rank there. But, you come out of this place getting fleeced. The guy who takes a note of your orders, start giving unsolicited advice like "If I add this stuff to your wished cuisines, It would be great…Should I?” This personalized gesture makes you to give a nod for ‘YES’. Well, he never mentions that how much you are going to be charged for the add-ons (veggies/toppings) on your pizza. In the end, he shows the scribbled noting on his unprinted bill book and asks for double the amount of what is printed in the Menu. Surprisingly, the prices of add-ons are not mentioned in the menu. You won’t notice this, if you have just started traveling or you come from a foreign land. To me, being a frequent traveler, It is nothing short of inducing people to take them in by playing tricks. These are common tricks to dupe travelers on hot spot touristic places.Moreover, there was a brawl over the taste of food and I heard him (the senior most staff) saying "This is my place! We serve like this only...Do you understand that?" Thankfully, I had to pay only the actual amount after a logical argument. But I felt bad for the fellow traveler who paid visit there with high hopes and was getting humiliated in the presence of others. Of course! It is his place, but do you expect a argument or brawl over the dinning table or do you want a nice evening and go there to enjoy your meal? I think the guy who runs this restra does not understand the feeling of 'enjoying the meal'. He is there to screw up your evening in case you shows displeasure for the insipid food placed on your table. Make sure, you ask him before hand that how much you have to pay for unsolicited advice! By the way, he charges for INR 350 of 650ml Beer bottle. If you like to have pizza there, then it is not better but good place to have it without extra toppings.
