Friday Fish Fry: The perch was outstanding! I've found my new favorite spot for perch. Absolutely fantastic!
We drove by this place on our last trip up north and decided to stop in today. The Up North Bar did not disappoint! The food was fantastic and the service was excellent too. It’s a no-frills spot, which we appreciated. My husband had the Bang Bang shrimp and rated it five stars. I enjoyed the perch, which was also great, along with some soup, potato salad, and beans. Everything was very good! The staff and other customers were really friendly. We’ll definitely make a stop here again. Thanks, Papa Bear!
1st visit for me. A true Diamond in the rough. Owner (Al) has the perfect personality, demeanor, customer attention, and focus creating a very welcoming, entertaining, and pleasant atmosphere that makes you feel valued, and wants to make you come back. I'll be back, and I'll bring my friends with me. ?????
Fish fry is underrated. All you can eat cod. Lightly breaded. Papa is the best. I
We stopped in here for a night cap after a late dinner and enjoyed talking with the bartender Austin, who was very friendly and more than willing to give us the low down on this spot. We've passed by here many times, and I'm looking forward to stopping in again when things are busier and the kitchen is open. Still, Papa Bear's has a good vibe and is a great place to gather with friends and meet some great people.
