King Chef - Poughkeepsie
King Chef
Description
**King Chef: A Mixed Bag of Experiences in Poughkeepsie**
Nestled amidst Poughkeepsie's bustling streets, King Chef serves as a paradox of culinary experiences. While some patrons rave about perfectly cooked meat and generous portions, others lament the lack of flavor, particularly in spicy dishes. Customer service seems equally unpredictable, with interactions ranging from friendly to curt. The restaurant’s interior has remained largely unchanged for decades, leading to concerns about its upkeep. Despite its shortcomings, many still champion King Chef for its reliability and decent pricing. However, potential diners should be cautious of misleading promotions and prepare for varied dining experiences.

King Chef has excellent Chicken Lo Mein and good service I love going there every once in awhile to splurge and get some yummy Chinese Food
The Fried rice was excellent , however why am I bitting into large pieces of onion in my dumpling which were passable. Do not order the Mongolian Beef. I got something like a stir fry beef which for what it was wasn't bad but it wasn't and never could be Mongolian Beef. I'm not sure if I would go
I ordered boneless spare ribs in a fried sauce along with pork loin and fried wontons. Unfortunately, the spare ribs were so tough that I couldn't eat them, and the wontons were overly crunchy. I tried calling to address these issues, but the young man who answered hung up on me—not just once, but twice—claiming I hadn't specified my order correctly. I've been a loyal customer for over two years since I was in Hyde Park, but after this experience, they've lost me. I will never order from them again and definitely won’t recommend them to anyone. I'm really upset, and I wish I could have taken a picture to show the problem.
King Chef offers outstanding Chicken Lo Mein and provides great service. I enjoy treating myself by dining there occasionally to indulge in some delicious Chinese food!
The service was quite disappointing, with the man being very rude and deserving only one star. However, the woman was nice and deserving of four stars. Be sure to check your food, as they might serve you refried items that were left behind by someone else. I haven't tried the entire menu, but I found the beef to be a bit rubbery, which made me question its quality and I couldn't finish it. On the other hand, the dog dish was a hit, so I’ll give that two stars for the man's service. Overall, my advice is to consider going somewhere else if you can.
