One can easily feel like they’ve been transported to the South with Southern hospitality. The vibe here is so down to earth, homey and family oriented. The food is amazing and made with love. We had the homefry feta sandwich and it was out of this world. The menu is so extensive we couldn’t decide what to choose. Everything looked good. The restaurant was full of family local patrons, classic jazz the likes of John Coltrane played overhead and our waitress was the sweetest woman. They take care with great pride. Service was immediate and personable, the food took time, it wasn’t pushed out fast because it was made to perfection and well worth the small wait. Would go again and try their griddle items or lunch!

Our waitress, Karen, was a lovely and humorous lady who provided excellent service. The menu offers a wide variety of options, and the portion sizes are impressive. The coffee is fantastic—definitely better than what I usually make! You won't be disappointed by this place.

They also h... read more I had a fantastic experience at Alex's! The service was friendly and attentive, and the burgers were awesome, accompanied by perfectly crispy fries. They also had a wide variety of vegan and vegetarian options. I ordered a veggie burger and absolutely loved it! I will definitely return the next time I'm in Poughkeepsie. As for vegetarian options, there were several sandwiches that were either vegan or vegetarian, and they also offered Impossible and veggie burgers.
