Best hand carved corned beef I’ve ever had! Terrific variety of sandwiches, wonderful rolls, bread and toppings. I’d go miles out of my way for a Grumpy’s sandwich. Terrific side dishes as well. The owner/operator is a great guy and prepares practically all the food items himself.

They gave me the wrong sandwich during a rush. No big deal. I asked for the right sandwich and they refunded me, gave me the right sandwich, and even offered a bowl of water for the dog next to us. Great place with a great staff!

So before I say anything negative, I must say the roast beef here is incredible! It's a rare pit style beef, not like your typical tavern or roast beef with gravy places around the area. I got a cup of soup as well, very good.It is a little pricey, but most things are now adays. The restaurant was very clean. But I'll tell you what, it was dead quiet. While I was there, there was only another couple dinning in and a few guys popped in to grab lunch orders. No music, just the lady at the counter and the guy in the back making sandwiches yelling back and forth at each other. He was hustling. You can tell the man cares about making his food. Not saying it was like a domestic argument type yelling but more like bickering from working together day to day. I felt like I did when I was a little kid, visiting a friend's house for dinner and their parents were fighting (I'm just gonna sit here with my head down and enjoy my food like nothing else is going on). I was concentrating hard not to slurp my soup. I thought it was kinda funny but also awkward.Anyway. The food was great, the other food I saw come out looked great, the lady at the counter was nice kinda. Definitely try it out, if you don't like the vibe, get your order to go.

Finally tried Grumpy’s 4 years after moving to Pottstown, and I’m wondering what I've been doing for the last 4 years. Ordered a Corned Beef Special for lunch and it was simply the best corned beef I’ve ever had. Grumpy is an artisan. The hand carved meat is incredible. If you haven’t tried Grumpy’s I must implore that you do.
