Maximilians - Potsdam

Very disappointed by our visit to this cafe after a say in Potsdam. Coffee and cakes were good and as expected however the ladies toilet was extremely dirty with faeces all over the toilet seat which was very concerning to say the least! Our waitress...was rude and unhelpful too throughout our time in Berlin we had tried to speak as much German as we are able and were encouraged by the positive responses from service staff in all areas not in Potsdam! The waitress just looked blankly at us and made no effort to understand our basic communication efforts and her ignorant attitude does not do the lovely town of Potsdam any public relations favours!! Unless you are fluent German speaker, very thick skinned or just want to be insulted then don't eat here find somewhere else to get a coffee when in Potsdam somewhere with clean toilets too perhaps!

I deeply enjoyed Potsdam. This was a phenomenal side trip from Berlin. The historic downtown had a great pedestrian area. Maximilians was great for an excellent meal and excellent location. The cakes were phenomenal with quite a selection. Save room for dessert. Typical German food....Enjoy

Good beer and food. Service on the slow side, but decent enough. Not expensive for the portions that you get. Would reccommend

Grand food, grand ambience, grand beer just a great place to relax and enjoy. Service was super and very friendly

Very pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. Attentive staff and you are not rushed. Great location along the main pedestrian precinct
