We were in serious need of a place to sit, we are very... read more This is a chain, like 7-11 or Starbucks, but this particular one is great. It's in tourist-heavy Potsdam. We were in serious need of a place to sit, we are very much tight budget travelers. All we wanted was rest and a bathroom. It seems all takeout places and cafes in Germany charge for using the bathroom. This place did not charge. They have self serve coffee and premade foods. The premade foods were actually really good, as opposed to when you get this kind of thing at 7-11 in America. It seems like it's made fresh, and we were so impressed that we almost bought a lot more sandwiches and desserts than we had. The cashier did not speak English but made absolutely certain we understood everything he said, and went slowly and pointed at the screen of his till every time he did a transaction for you so you could understand. He was very considerate. I'd like to thank Backwerk for their high quality of convenience food and good employees. Something sorely lacking here in America's convenience marts.
