I would give it 3.5 stars if Google allowed. Food was good the pumpkin ravioli was excellent and the gulf shrimp pasta was good, too (both appetizers) but a few items like the mashed potatoes and truffle mac and cheese sides could have beenelevated. Potatoes were bland and mac and cheese was dry and had a grainy texture. Beef short rib entree was delicious with anamazing crust on the outside but wasn't that tender on the inside and was a little dry too, like it was maybe cooked too fast orat too high a temperature. My husband enjoyed his scallops and my dessert, the sweet potato torte, was great while his, thecarrot cake, was just ok. Again, nothing was bad but at these prices, I expected most things too be better. Service was greatand the server was very apologetic that out desserts were taking an unreasonably long time. Nothing says sorry like taking itoff the bill. It was Valentine's Day though so maybe the kitchen was just too busy. I think that trying happy hour pricing on aslower day will make it more worth it and a better value.
My wife and I tried the new Addie 's last night after many fond memories of the original location on Rockville Pike. We regretted not going sooner since their new location in Park Potomac has been there for probably a year ? . As it turns out, that delay was for the best. Apparently the new Addie 's tried to be something different, with $100 seafood tower dishes ratherthan the classic tried and true menu we all remember from the old Addie 's. This did not go over well, and Addie 's recentlyclosed itself down to restore it 's old style menu. The new venue is much better in my opinion, with a decent bar and morespacious seating area. Some may miss the charm of the old converted house that Addie 's used to call home, but I see onlyprogress. Long story short, I 'm glad we went when we did. The food was excellent and the tables were full, so the word must beout: the real Addie 's is back.
I was so disappointed in my house salad with salmon. It tasted like something I might have made at home...and I am a terrible cook...that 's why we go out all the time. This is the second meal we 've had at our 'once upon a time ' favorite restaurant thatneeded a do-over. The staff and atmosphere is lovely but someone needs to send in a secret shopper to order a meal. It wasreally bad.
Addie’s is great for brunch on the weekend. They have a lovely brunch menu and the service is so nice and friendly. I loved the decadent sticky bun and the smoke salmon eggs Benedict. Will definitely return.
We have eaten at Addie’s in Park Potomac many times since it opened; we also ate at the original Addie’s and other Black Restaurant Group locations, in particular Black Market Bistro, and have always been pleased. However, our visit on Saturday, 02/29, was a horrible experience. We arrived shortly before our 11:45 reservation, placed our orders no later than 12:10, and, with the exception of a soup that one member of the party ordered which arrived quickly, did not receive our meals until almost 1:00. I know the time since I checked my watch to see how close we were to exceeding the 2-hour free parking window. Consequently, we had to eat quickly to make sure to get to our cars in time. At one point, the waiter told us the delay was due to a party of 30 in the side room; however, I do not believe that was the cause since diners at tables near ours arrived after us, were served before us, and some finished and left before we were ever served. We also received no apology for the delay. A different waiter asked a member of the party if she wanted a refill for her iced tea. When he brought it, he asked if we needed anything else — my wife asked for a refill for her iced tea and his response was that she should have asked before to save him a trip — no excuse for that attitude. While we will continue to dine at Black Market Bistro, and other Black Group locations, it is highly unlikely that we will return to Addie’s.
