The cocido lebaniego and... read more Potes is a quaint little (and touristy) town. This restaurant is in the middle of all the buzz and yet it is fantastic in every regard. The cocido lebaniego and the cachopo are a must, mind you portions are not small, so if you are on a diet don't bother. Restaurant is humble but food is great and the service friendly. Ask them about their dishes and the difference between the cocidos and cachopos, you will see the pride for their food. It was an excellent experience.

We ordered tuna steak with tomatoes and onions after anchovies with red peppers and soft cheese (which you can’t really get wrong). I thought that the tomatoes and onions would be cooked, but weren’t. OK my mistake, but the tuna was disastrous. I should think every trainee chef learns that it has to be lightly cooked, otherwise it turns out like ours cardboard and cotton wool. The meat on hot stones looked better. Maybe that would have been a better bet.

Great cachopo, and brilliant that the staff advise you to share! Asturias stew also really good, and the view out over the river is special.
