Albergo La Primula - POTENZA

On my first visit to La Primula several years ago, I was enchanted by what I called an oasis of calm and beauty. Returning recently, after six years, I feared that it might have changed. Happily, it has remained the gem I held so dear. We arrived on a sunny Sunday afternoon and were greeted,as on the first visit, warmly and generously by Antonio,who is a treasure! We were thrilled to find that La Primula was exactly as we remembered it. The Lioi family members are masters of the art of hospitality. The building itself, the park-like gardens, the guest rooms, public rooms and the dining room are all welcoming, immaculately clean and comfortable. From the reception desk to the kitchen, everything runs smoothly and naturally, very much like a private country club where every member’s likes and needs are served with grace and meticulous attention. It’s a very special place run by very special people and I hope to return to my “country club” in Potenza in the near future—for a longer stay! Grazie mille a tutti per tanti belli ricordi.

This is a family-run restaurant, which takes inspiration for its recipes from the food tradition of the southern Italian Lucania region. The place is tastefully furnished, the atmosphere is welcoming but also sophisticated. The food is excellent. We are not exaggerating if, after much wandering around and visiting cafes, bistros, taverns and restaurants, this seemed to us to be one of the most refined places in the city. Truly top notch. The service is also very good: the waiters are kind and friendly. Perfect for a dinner for two, but also for an important occasion and for a celebration with more people. What really makes the difference here, in addition to the delicious food and the never exaggerated prices, is the kindness and friendliness of the owner and all the staff. Highly recommended.

Wonderful all outside inside. I was pretty hard to be satisfied...came here by accident and surprisingly had one of the best dinners in Italy. Chef's choice...blind primo and second dishes.are..impeccable.
