Giardino - Poschiavo

Hotel La Romantic Review Charming Swiss hotel with view of Lake Poschiavo. Le Prese is small village which was perfectly located for a nights stay during our train ride from Venice to St. Moritz where we would take the Glacier Express through Switzerland. When we arrived at the hotel, we were unexpectedly upgraded to a room with a view of Lake Poschiavo. The staff was very friendly and they spoke English well. Our room was large, clean and comfortable with a very nice bathroom with shower. The bed was comfortable as well. For dinner we ate at IL RISTORANTE GIARDINO. The cuisine and the service was first class. We enjoyed the Paillard do Vitellone which was delicious. The server paired a red wine that went perfectly with the veal. We followed up with an amazing dessert. What is amazing is that the chef, Flavio Lardi, is also the owner of our hotel! In the morning, we were a bit rushed to catch the bus, but were able to grab some delicious pastries and coffee before our departure. We highly recommend both the Hotel and the Restaurant!

The Giardino restaurant of Le Prese (part of the Romantica hotel), has been one of our favourites for years. We usually stay in the Engadine, and this time we took the Bernina express train to the Poschiavo valley to have lunch and stroll near the lake. The garden is very pleasant, with some dense trees that provide shadow. The food is really very good and considering it is Switzerland not so very expensive. Our lunch was under 100 CFS for two persons. Anyway, only a fraction of the cost of the round trip by the Bernina express :
