While some enjoyed the menu variety and attentive staff, others were disappointed by long wait times and unappetizing food. Overall, the restaurant seems to offer a hit-or-miss experience, with some praising the ambiance and delicious meals, while others criticize the lackadaisical attitude of staff. Despite the mixed opinions, many mentioned good value for money and a pleasant dining experience. Whether it's a hit or a miss, Thatched House's charm and friendly staff may entice patrons to return for another visit.
My friends and I decided to try the new lunch menu at this restaurant, as we had visited several times before. We were very impressed with the wide selection of light dishes available. The staff were outstanding and made sure to accommodate all of our needs, including a friend who has a gluten allergy. We will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
The restaurant provided excellent customer service. Our table was nicely secluded and quiet. The food was delicious. When I requested extra custard, it was no problem at all. Although the sausages I ordered for my dogs were not initially included, they were still brought out. Overall, there were 9 satisfied customers.
This pub is absolutely charming all year round, with extremely friendly and welcoming staff who are always up for a chat and a good time. The food is delicious, with the chicken Katsu curry being my personal favorite.
Decided to have a quick stop after a long day at work for a meal and a drink, staff are absolutely lovely and efficient nothing was to much hassle for them, will definitely be returning
Came here for a family birthday early on a Saturday evening. We were not shown to our table but just told that it was 'probably that one over there '. Having sat down at the table we waited for a waitress but when one did not arrive we got some menus from a neighbouring table. After nearly half an hour, we still had not been attended to so I 've of our party went to the bar to ask if we ordered at the bar or if it was table service. The lady behind the bar replied that it was her job to take the orders but complained about being short staffed, but she could take our order if we wanted. One of our party went to the bar and asked for 2 bottles of prosecco and eight glasses. When the waitress arrived with them, she put the glasses at each place. When she came to me, I said that we didn 't need all of the glasses as not everyone would be drinking the prosecco. She replied that 'he ', pointing at the person who had asked for the drinks, had asked for eight glasses so that 's what she bought and she put them on the table in front of me. I could go on with examples of poor service as there were plenty, including one of our group receiving a meal he did not order. But the incident that has spurred me to write this review is, in my opinion, so unbelievably awful. A waitress came to the table at around 8.30 and said that if anyone wanted a coffee, then we 'd need to order now as they were turning off the coffee machine. 3 of us asked for a coffee and a while later a waitress came to me as I was seated at one end of our 8 seater table and plonked a tray with 3 coffees on, slopping the drinks into the saucers and said 'enjoy ' and walked away. I then had to leave my seat and deliver the drinks to those who had ordered them. Very very rarely do I leave negative feedback like this as, having worked in a service industry, I am aware of the challenges and stresses involved. But I have to add, as a final statement, that I have never ever received such poor service.
