I was very impressed by the vegetarian dish I ordered on Sunday (Mushroom Wellington). It was a nice change from the usual offerings at other places, and it was quite nutritious. The dessert was also delicious, with a smooth orange sponge. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was great. We will definitely be returning. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Grace And Ivy:
The food was superb and the service was excellent about 3 weeks ago. We had a lovely salmon dish. We immediately put this restaurant as one of our favourite. Yesterday during lunch time we had the same salmon and experienced the opposite. The food was tasteless, the potatoes was cold like they were yesterday's potatoes. We paid and left. Very disappointed. Will never ever visit after yesterday experience. View all feedback.
Maybe the best lamb I had! Warm welcome from the beautiful team on arrival and very attentive service throughout. I had the lamb with parmenting potatoes, the flavors sat really well together and the lamb melt delicious in your mouth! To dessert, I had a cheese board that was also wonderful and had a cheese from France that made me go back to his own. All in all, a fantastic time. I'll go back again and again! Thank you.
Went to Churchill’s as a cafe we occasionally go to was closed. It was lovely. We had an English breakfast and every bit was delicious. I must say that I always rate a breakfast of the sausages,as I hate cheap, breads sausages but theirs were meaty. We will visit again. Friendly service too with regulars being greeted politely and personally by the staff.
This is such a nice place to stop into for lunch or breakfast (i havent tried their evening menu). My Nan isnt a big eater and they were happy to make her a smaller meal for less. Staff are friendly and it has a relaxed atmosphere. It is small so maybe not one to take toddlers to.
This was my second visit. The restaurant decor is lovely, calming colours. I had the belly pork but wish I'd had the lamb, found pork too dry, potatoes and veg good. Orange sponge also too dry and would benefit from creme freche. Service excellent.
Sorry but got it all wrong. Should have realised when only 3 tables taken at about 2.30 on a Sunday. All others in Marmion Road were full. Couple walked out once reading menu and so should we, £16 for a 2 course!! But we have to give it a go, ordered roast lamb asked for it to be well done, but not burnt. Came but lamb was cut much much too thick, the roast potatoes were like stones, but just about cut through them. Meat was thick and chewy. We left most and owner came to our table, agreed with us and said there would be no charge, he knew the roast potatoes were hard, he agreed the meat was cut too thick. I said I don't mind paying he still said no charge. On leaving a lady presented bill for £28 and said she had discounted the bill! Normal price £16 for a 2 course!!! Our bill £28, yes she knocked off price of 2 shandy!!. They say they are trying to be between a cafe and restaurant, well they are not. Darren the owner before cooked great food, never had a problem. This outlet will not survive if it continues as is. Prices too high, food quality too low. But seating is better so to decor, but also need to section off the 1 toilet, it can't be healthy having a toilet opening straight into eating area?
