First time here even though we 've walked past this restaurant a dozen times. We went here on a Tuesday night for shuck-a-buck to celebrate a birthday, but stayed for the amazing food and service! We eat out quite a bit and it usually takes a lot to impress us, but this place nailed it all from the well balanced dishes, spot on drinks, and of course, the awesome service from the entire crew. What Dominic A doesn't like about Jumpin' Jay's Fish Café:
We went here based on the reviews, but it was unfortunately a pretty poor experience. The highlight was the kind staff and solid service, but the food was very disappointing. Normally I'd chalk it up to a busy night, but it was a Friday on labor day weekend and we were one of the few tables there. We intended to order more but stopped after the appetizers.
The risotto had no flavor. Beef medallions were supposed to be medium rare. Two of them were barely cooked. The asparagus was mostly stems. Very few buds.
Writing this review as we just left. We got the crab cake, and tuna tartar for appetizers and the bluefin tuna, monkfish puttanesca and swordfish for mains and OMG! I cannot honestly say I haven't had better. Everything was fresh, quick and hot! Literally the only negative of the night was the red walls. Jane was out server and she was excellent.
Jumpin’ Jay’s Fish Café is one of my favorite spots for a great seafood meal in a laidback, friendly setting. The fish is always perfectly prepared, the cocktails are expertly crafted, and the staff is professional, friendly, and not overbearing.
It was good but frankly i do not think it was 45$ a plate good. of course its a touristy area ... i had the seefood fettuccine.... presentation was very good.
